History
Salher Fort's story goes back to its connection with Parasurama's penance and the important Shiva temple located there. Over time, the fort saw many battles, including one led by Shivaji in 1671. Even though Shivaji and his soldiers lost many people, they still won the battle. This victory made Shivaji even stronger as a leader and made the Marathas more powerful in the area around Salher Fort, posing a threat to cities like Surat. Despite the chaos, the fort stood resilient, symbolising the tenacity and courage of those who defended it!
